A simple tactic, not only to make life easy for our customers, but to minimise bad debt, is the introduction of the Square POS Card Reader. Fenix cleaning team leaders will need to know how to:
- How to set it up
- How to use it
Don’t worry, it’s easy as pie, as long as you follow the procedure provided with the terminal.
As you are probable already aware, there are five ways in which Fenix gets paid, in order of preference they are:
- A simple bank transfer before the job as requested on every quote
- A card payment thought Stripe by clicking on the “Pay Now” button on the invoice generated by SM8
- A card payment immediately after the job through Square using the POS card reader
- A Square card payment by calling the office and providing the card numbers over the phone
- A cash payment which is not a preferred option at Fenix (discussed further in another article)
BTW Square and Stripe are two companies providing similar services to enable card payments to be transferred to a nominated bank account. Both charge a fee of about 2.2% of the transaction value, hence our preference for bank transfer over card payment.
Fenix provide Fenix cleaning team leaders with a procedure for installing and using the card reader at the same time we provide them with the card reader itself. This article is just to introduce the topic and encourage staff and customers not to be afraid of the new technology which is actually very easy and user friendly to set up and use to take/make payments.
The card reader is connected to the payment taker’s phone via Bluetooth and only has to be plugged in from time to time to charge it up.
The card can either be inserted into the card slot in the reader or tapped on the top of the reader. It may also be used with mobile phone apps such as Apple Pay and Google Pay. The payer simply holds their device to the top of the card reader as they would at any other place of business using phone payments.
THE CARD READER IS ONE OF A NUMBER OF SOLUTIONS USED BY FENIX TO ENSURE MAKING A PAYMENT IS AS SIMPLE AND FAST AS IT CAN POSSIBLE BE FOR ALL CONCERNED.
